I have a significant leg length discrepancy due to a severe femur fracture during a bicyling accident. I had a custom shoe lift installed by a local orthotics shop, but that turned out to be a less than satisfying experience. They put a white insert into my grey walking shoe which really stuck out. Plus after several months the top of the insert started to separate from the upper part of the shoe at the toe. Then anytime I walked in the rain the shoe would squeak loudly with every step for several days until it dried out.

I wanted to have other shoes modified but was not about to go back to that shop. So I decided to search online for someone who could do a better job of modifying my shoes. I found a few companies offering custom shoe lifts, but the one that looked best to me was Buddy's Custom Shoe Lifts at Lilburn Shoe. I was particularly impressed by the many photos on the website of shoes that Buddy has done in the past, plus all the detailed information he provides on his site about the ordering process and options available.

So I decided to send a new grey walking shoe and a brown sandal to Buddy to install honeycombed full sole lifts. And I must say that I am very satisfied with the experience. I received my modified shoes in the promised time frame, the price was reasonable (significantly less than I paid at the local shop for an inferior job) and Buddy's craftsmanship is impeccable! You have to look very closely at the shoes to detect that a sole lift has been inserted. My shoes look every bit as nice as the ones on his website. I will be sending more shoes to Buddy in the future and highly recommend him to anyone needing custom shoe lifts. I showed my chiropractor Buddy's website and he was so impressed he gave Buddy a phone call. Just an update in addition to the below from some time ago. Recently received a couple pair, a pair of boots and a pair of shoes that I had sent in for a lift. The work is amazing. It’s rare these days for folks to go above and beyond but that’s just the standard for these guys and I’m so appreciative. Without good shoes and a good lift, I would be in serious trouble. I consider Buddy to be a critical member of my health care team and can’t recommend their services highly enough.

Another amazing lift added to my shoe. I only have a 1/2” lift but it beats putting in a shoe insert that makes my shoe too tight or so my foot doesn’t fit in my shoe. Job well done! They did a great job making my Teva sandals look and function with the correct size lift, and it’s like they came that way all along.
